Hola MCC Blog

Mesa, Arizona is a community that is home to about 125,000 Hispanics and Latinos - over 25% of the city’s population.  Approximately 40% of Mesa citizens are under the age of 18.  It is evident that Hispanics are an important element of the city’s future, so higher education is essential to create a thriving workforce.   Mesa Community College is a school that wants to partner with Latino neighbors to provide learning that welcomes cultural appreciation and respect, while preparing young adults for productive and successful futures.
Mesa Community College recognizes the power of family experiences and personal stories.  Students in the college classroom represent both completed goals and hopeful pursuits.  While each student must complete his/her own educational journey, a support system within the community and within MCC’s campus, will strengthen desire, commitment, and completion.
This blog will be a source of information for those Latinos who are:
·         considering college but have questions about eligibility
·         want to attend Mesa Community College but do not know how to enroll or register
·         the first from the family to enter higher education in America
·         wondering what campus-life is like for Hispanic students
·         looking to network with other Latino families in similar situations
·         current students that want to reach other Hispanics who may need additional insight
·         looking for financial aid and/or scholarship information that may be applicable to Latinos
